My pain is caused by my pleasure And my soul mate lives in your body I can't get you out of my head It never goes away
( an au where stiles is a werewolf. can be because he was bitten by peter hale instead of scott, or possibly after he was offered the bite. maybe he was always a werewolf. )
[ She's watching his body language for clues, because her nose isn't up to par with that of werewolves or Mercy, but as far as she can see he's just a boy who happens to be at home in the woods.
Who looks a little like he belong in the woods. ]
Oh, cool. [ Her brightness isn't all feigned, but there's a part of her that feels like she's just trespassed onto territory and should therefore get a move on. ] I guess I wasn't really lost after all.
So uh, thanks. [ She bobs her head a little and points both index fingers (bang, bang?) in the direction he sighted ] I guess I'll get going, [ and tries not to feel too bummed. ]
See ya, tiger. [ Hey, he started it. Who was she to resist the reference? ]
[ Stiles is watching her watching him, and he gets that prickling in the back of his neck that usually signifies the watchfulness of hunters but she doesn't look like one of the Argents.
Then again, they aren't the only hunters.
It's for observation, he thinks, as he raises a hand after a moment. ]
Hey, I can help you walk back, I know this area pretty well. It'll keep you from getting lost again, if you want?
I hear he's a real slave driver. [ Oh Jesse, if you only knew She can't resist an eyebrow wiggle, or the beginnings of a conspiratorial grin that quirks at the corner of her mouth. ] And thanks, I'd appreciate that.
[ She stops, turns and holds her hand out to him then. ] I'm Jesse.
[ Stiles can't help the little grimace. ] Oh, you have no idea.
[ He grins right back at her, starting to walk and nearly running into her when she stops and turns. He takes a step back, then wipes his hand on his jeans (there's dirt, from the house) and takes it, shaking her hand, careful to keep his strength out of it. ]
Stiles. My dad's the Sheriff around here, but I don't know if he's gonna stop by the preserve, so.
[ When she lets go of his hand she decides that she likes Stiles. He's funny and there's something about him that reminds her oddly of Warren, even if Stiles and the much older werewo-- man couldn't look more different. ] Can I confess? I'm not really in a hurry to get back.
[ Jesse pulls the strap of her backpack, adjusting it's place on her shoulder as she starts walking again. The forest is fairly quiet all around so the crunch crunch crunch of leaves underfoot is a comforting sound. ] That exciting huh? Not that, you know, there's anything not exciting about elk, moose, bear and foxes.
[ The sound of crunching leaves is so strangely loud in his ears, as is the rasp of her backpack. He does a good job of keeping the flinch off his face, though. ]
Oh no, it's really exciting. You see some moose, you freak out about the antlers, s'all good.
[ He swings his arms. ]
I get to go out on patrols with him, but he never lets me see the good stuff.
[ Of course, now that Stiles had his own brand of stuff to worry about, that included werewolves, and kanimas, and the like... ]

[ he shrugs. ]

[ He gives her a little grin when he says that. No one gets his first name out of him that easily.
He shoves his hands in his pockets, nodding in the direction of the preserve. ]
Come on, don't you wanna see the exciting lives of elk, and moose, and maybe a bear if you're really lucky and the bus didn't scare it off?
[ He shakes his head. ]
Don't even think about hoping for a rabid fox or anything.
